OUR COLLABORATION WITH ATHENS STREET ARTIST, SDEVIANO

We’re always looking for new ways to bring an authentic Greek experience to our guests, not just through our food, but by creating an atmosphere that reflects the beauty and culture of Greece. That’s why we’ve partnered with Athens-based street artist Sdeviano (Stefanos Papadimos), who has designed stunning murals for our London restaurants in Stratford, St Martin’s Lane, Strand, St Paul’s, Soho, and our central office.

The collaboration with Stefanos started when our team was recently on a trip to Greece, searching for inspiration to make our dishes even more authentic. While exploring the Greek capital, our CEO, Marcel, came across Sdeviano working on his incredible street art in a tiny Athenian alleyway. His bold illustrations captured the heart and soul of Greece and Marcel immediately knew Stefanos’ work would be a perfect fit for our restaurants, adding a fresh, artistic take on Greek culture to our spaces! 

Stefanos visited us this past September and created unique murals for the interiors of our some of our restaurants, featuring scenes inspired by everyday life in Greece. You’ll find depictions of mythical creatures, traditional patterns and landscapes that transport you to Greece. The artwork is playful, detailed, and full of vibrancy, adding something special to every meal. It’s truly remarkable to witness Stefanos at work; he painted entirely freehand, without templates or plans, all while the restaurants remained open. Guests watched in awe as he brought these stunning murals to life.

In his own words, Stefanos said, “I’m excited to bring a part of Greece to The Real Greek in the UK. This collaboration lets me share the culture I love with people in London. It’s amazing to see how my art can create a little piece of Greece here. It was interesting to experience the process of visualising the feelings and emotions of being in Greece even to people that have never been there”.

What makes these murals even more special for us, is how they change the atmosphere throughout the day. In the morning, the designs create a fun, lively vibe where you can take a break from the city’s noise. In the evening, the contrast of blue and white turns the space into a more intimate, cozy place to enjoy dinner. The murals set the tone, making the dining experience even more unique, whether you’re stopping in for lunch or an evening meal.

About the Artist; Stefanos Papadimos is based in Athens and works as a graphic designer, illustrator, and street artist. His background in graphic design adds precision to his work, while his passion for street art gives his illustrations energy and character. He’s brought a bit of modern Greece into our restaurants, and we’re thrilled to showcase his talent!

SDEVIANO COMPETITION – TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. General Information

• The competition is hosted by The Real Greek (@therealgreekuk) and is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Instagram.
• By entering this competition, entrants agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

2. Eligibility

• The competition is open to all Instagram users aged 18 or over.
• Employees of The Real Greek, their families, agents, or any third party directly associated with the competition are not eligible to participate.
• The competition is open to residents of the UK only, except Ireland, the Scottish highlands and islands.

3. Competition Period

• The competition opens at 12:00 PM (GMT) on Thursday 24^th October, 2024 and closes at 11:59 PM (GMT) on November 3rd, 2024.
• Entries received after this date will not be considered.

4. How to Enter To enter the competition, participants must:

1. Follow both @Sdeviano and @therealgreekuk on Instagram.
2. Like the competition post on @therealgreekuk’s Instagram page.
3. Tag two friends in the comments of the competition post who would love to win the art piece.

5. Entry Restrictions

• Multiple entries are allowed, but each comment must tag two different friends. Repeated tags of the same individuals in separate comments will not count as multiple entries.
• Instagram profiles that are set to private may have to accept a follow request from @therealgreekuk in order to verify entry.

6. Prize

• One winner will receive a signed 100x100cm painting on canvas by the street artist Sdeviano.
• The prize is non-exchangeable, non-transferable, and no cash alternatives will be offered.
• The Real Greek reserves the right to replace the prize with an alternative of equal or higher value if circumstances beyond their control make it necessary to do so.

7. Winner Selection

• The winner will be selected randomly from all eligible entries.
• The winner will be announced on @therealgreekuk’s Instagram page Monday 4^th November 2024.
• The winner will be contacted via Instagram Direct Message within 48 hours of the competition’s closing date.
• If the winner does not respond within 72 hours of being contacted, The Real Greek reserves the right to select a new winner from the remaining eligible entries.

8. Prize Delivery

• The prize will be shipped to the winner’s UK address at no cost. Delivery timing will be discussed with the winner once they are confirmed.

9. Publicity

• By entering the competition, the winner agrees to the use of their Instagram handle and likeness in any future promotional activity related to this competition.

10. Liability

• The Real Greek and Sdeviano are not responsible for any loss, damage, or personal injury incurred by the winner during the use or ownership of the prize.
• The Real Greek reserves the right to amend or withdraw the competition at any time without prior notice, for reasons beyond its control.

11. Instagram

• Instagram is not affiliated with this competition. All participants agree to release Instagram from any liability related to the competition.

12. Data Protection

• Any personal information provided by entrants will be used solely for the purposes of administering this competition and will not be shared with third parties.

13. Beware of Scams

• The Real Greek (@therealgreekuk) and Sdeviano (@Sdeviano) will never ask for payment or personal details like credit card information via Instagram. Be cautious of fraudulent accounts pretending to represent the competition. The winner will only be contacted through the official @therealgreekuk Instagram account.
